There are a lot of ways to get a decent meal here in Japan. One of them is to go to the local convenience store and buy your supper for the evening. I recently did that with a challenge that Kyle started one evening while I was out late working. The whole challenge is to take 1,00- yen (around $10) and go buy dinner. And you have to get something in these 4 categories: a main dish, a side dish, a drink, and a desert of some kind. So this is what I ended up getting.
All of this totaled together was: 739 yen!
That is a fair amount of food for the price that I paid. The whole idea of eating this was to show that it is possible to get a decent meal from a convenience store....which are a HUGE thing here in Japan. So if you are ever hare, and you don't feel like cooking, then head on out to your local Family Mart to pick up some dinner.
- I Lohas mango flavor: 130 yen
- Meat Croquette: 213 yen
- Beef Fried Rice: 288 yen
- Adult garigari (ice popsicle): 108 yen
